: Candice's Requested Journaling
Well, okay. Candice thinks I need to journal more often. The thing is, I don't do much anymore that's interesting enough to share. But I will mention the points she made so you all have something more to read.
The Halloween party was fun. The kids were so cute in their costumes. It was fun to clean up Sherry's shed too.
Last weekend I washed the vehicles and attended the party while Debby baked chocolate chip cookies, butter cookies, pumpkin bread, eclairs and also made taco soup and spaghetti sauce for the freezer. Then this Friday she made a peanut butter pie. It was delicious and already is all gone. We ate all 24 of the eclairs in three days. They were small. And you can't freeze them.
We had about 30 trick or treaters this year, comparable to the last couple years. We gave out the big candy bars again. We buy them when they're on sale four for a dollar, then freeze them until Halloween. When you think about it, you spend about the same amount for a bag of snack size candy bars and get about 12 to 14 in a bag, so go for the big ones! We only had a group of four little kids come back for seconds, but we had backup smaller stuff so that's what we gave them the second time. Debby also let them know that we knew they'd already been here. Can't fool us! LOL
Chelly, what is on your Christmas wish list? You must let me know as I have your name this year.
I'm loving this sunny weather. Our walks have gotten longer this week because of it. We've been taking afternoon walks the last few weekends while it's still warm and sunny and we don't even need jackets. It's fun to shuffle along through the dry leaves and watch them raining down out of the trees.
One of our neighbors commited suicide last week. We didn't know him but sometimes saw him outside washing his truck or messing with his boat. He was 34, lived in the big house three houses up across the street, lived with two housemates and rented the house from his dad. According to his obituary, he grew up in Lake Oswego so must have come from a family with money. You wonder, what in the world??
I'm looking forward to babysitting Riley tomorrow after work while Candice goes to the eye doctor. I'm sure we will have some kind of wonderful adventure.
I had part of a filling come out of a tooth tonight so I will have to schedule a dental appointment probably for sometime this week. It's on the back side of one of my top front teeth.
What else? Hmmmm.........
Oh! Guess what? Today Debby and I learned that we are trend setters. There was an article in the Oregonian about women baby boomers moving in together with their best friend to share expenses and because it's fun. It's going to be the next rage. Women outlive men and have better friendships, the article said, so it makes sense to share a house with a friend. And they are right when they say it's alot of fun! We don't feel so much that our living arrangements are out of the norm now that others will be jumping on the bandwagon.
I will be taking 3 vacation days the week of Thanksgiving. We are closed Thursday and Friday that week. Looking forward to those days off.
I can't think of anything else to tell you. Love to all. It's only 7:35 P.M but seems like it should be bedtime because of the early darkness. Have a good week, everybody.
