11:36 pm: Candice's Requested Journaling
Well, okay. Candice thinks I need to journal more often. The thing is, I don't do much anymore that's interesting enough to share. But I will mention the points she made so you all have something more to read.

The Halloween party was fun. The kids were so cute in their costumes. It was fun to clean up Sherry's shed too.

Last weekend I washed the vehicles and attended the party while Debby baked chocolate chip cookies, butter cookies, pumpkin bread, eclairs and also made taco soup and spaghetti sauce for the freezer. Then this Friday she made a peanut butter pie. It was delicious and already is all gone. We ate all 24 of the eclairs in three days. They were small. And you can't freeze them.

We had about 30 trick or treaters this year, comparable to the last couple years. We gave out the big candy bars again. We buy them when they're on sale four for a dollar, then freeze them until Halloween. When you think about it, you spend about the same amount for a bag of snack size candy bars and get about 12 to 14 in a bag, so go for the big ones! We only had a group of four little kids come back for seconds, but we had backup smaller stuff so that's what we gave them the second time. Debby also let them know that we knew they'd already been here. Can't fool us! LOL

Chelly, what is on your Christmas wish list? You must let me know as I have your name this year.

I'm loving this sunny weather. Our walks have gotten longer this week because of it. We've been taking afternoon walks the last few weekends while it's still warm and sunny and we don't even need jackets. It's fun to shuffle along through the dry leaves and watch them raining down out of the trees.

One of our neighbors commited suicide last week. We didn't know him but sometimes saw him outside washing his truck or messing with his boat. He was 34, lived in the big house three houses up across the street, lived with two housemates and rented the house from his dad. According to his obituary, he grew up in Lake Oswego so must have come from a family with money. You wonder, what in the world??

I'm looking forward to babysitting Riley tomorrow after work while Candice goes to the eye doctor. I'm sure we will have some kind of wonderful adventure.

I had part of a filling come out of a tooth tonight so I will have to schedule a dental appointment probably for sometime this week. It's on the back side of one of my top front teeth.

What else? Hmmmm.........

Oh! Guess what? Today Debby and I learned that we are trend setters. There was an article in the Oregonian about women baby boomers moving in together with their best friend to share expenses and because it's fun. It's going to be the next rage. Women outlive men and have better friendships, the article said, so it makes sense to share a house with a friend. And they are right when they say it's alot of fun! We don't feel so much that our living arrangements are out of the norm now that others will be jumping on the bandwagon.

I will be taking 3 vacation days the week of Thanksgiving. We are closed Thursday and Friday that week. Looking forward to those days off.

I can't think of anything else to tell you. Love to all. It's only 7:35 P.M but seems like it should be bedtime because of the early darkness. Have a good week, everybody.

In case you hadn't noticed none of us really live super exciting lives. Anyway it's fun to read about everybody's normal everyday stuff. I'm glad you updated!
I must admit though that reading your entry made me oh so very hungry. mmmm...taco soup....mmmm eclairs....mmmm that chicken and rice dish that Debby makes....I know you didn't mention that, but it popped into my mind when I was reading about the other food.

Chicken and Rice

What chicken and rice recipe are you talkin' 'bout, Willis? What does it have in it? Neither of us can picture it. Is is Spanish rice with chicken, or does it have cream of chicken soup or chicken gravy?

TREND SETTERS

I always knew you & Debby were on the cutting edge. A whole week off is always something to look forward to. I appreciate that you updated. It is good to know what goes on exciting or not. Though how can you say babysitting Riley won't be exciting?!? She always has fun with her AnSan. That sucks about your filling. I hope they can fix it soon & that it doesn't hurt. This dark early does make it seem like bedtime should be much sooner. JD was hating that it put off his canned dinner time by a hour. The neighbor thing is so sad. What a waste. I wonder if the two housemates will still get to rent the place. Perhaps though after the incident they will be to freaked out. The weather has been amazing. You just never know from day to day around here. The visual of you two shuffling through the leaves makes me smile. Holy hell I you better hope you can keep walking for awhile considering the whole pie & that many eclairs are gone!

The missing filling doesn't cause any pain because it's a dead tooth having had a root canal and a cap on it. My appointment is for next Monday after work. I tried to get in this morning after being offered the morning off but there were no appointments available. Hey, the pie was small and so were the eclairs. That's why we can't stop exercising! We can only splurge like that occasionally anymore because we can't seem to stay slim enough and it is so hard to even lose a couple pounds.

I agree; you need to journal more often

It doesn't seem right that you guys can eat a batch of eclairs and an entire pie and still be trim baby boomers. ;-)

Keep updating!

It was one of your posts saying something about people neglecting journaling lately that made me call & yell at Sandra & Debby.

Thank you! I turn green and rip my clothes off when people dont update enough. It brings out the monster in me. Perhaps I should start emailing pics of the naked green monster to the offenders. That'll punish them and get them in gear.
